YSL Lip Stain no 9

YSL Lip Stain - no. 9

This lip stain is incredible! Vibrant colour, long lasting and easy to apply. Wow wow and wow!

This is the colour on my lips unlined, inside and using a flash. For a much neater outline I recommend using a red lip liner before applying this stain. The flash makes my skin look really white  especially because I'm not wearing any other makeup!

Pros

Excellent pigmentation
Long lasting (people claim it can last 8 hours-will test it soon)
Easy to apply
Fantastic colour options
Non offensive odour

Cons

Expensive
Can be drying (apply a good lip balm prior to application)

Sodashi skin care!

I am all too conscious that on a daily basis we cover our skin in products, which are full of chemicals. I have been searching for an organic, chemical free range of skin care products and I am thrilled to announce that I have found it!!!! Sodashi!!!

As I get closer to entering my 30's I am more aware of the need to reduce the ageing process and look after my skin. After a recent facial at the silky oaks lodge in the Daintree rainforest Ifell in love with this brand.

All of their products are amazing but I highly highly recommend the eye lifting gel and the white clay mask. The eye lifting gel is second to none... It smooths out the fine lines around my eyes leaving the skin tighter and yet still softer. Continued use of this product will result in amazing results that will last. Definetely worth e $125!

The white clay mask is perfect for dry, sensitive and dehydrated skin. This is an incredible skin brightening mask that helps too replenish moisture and soothe your skin. Only required to be used once a week and wow what a difference it makes!

No I am not paid to promote these products I am just in love with them!

Best brushes!

I previously purchased a LancĂ´me powder brush for a ridiculous amount of money and it leaves bristles all over my face to the point that my friends were picking the little hairs off my face and asking if I wax my facial hair.... NOT FACIAL HAIR PEOPLE!!!!  So I decided to try the Sigma brushes...

To be honest I was not expecting much.... I thought that they must be poor quality since you get 12 brushes for $120US but wow was I wrong! I have been using these brushes for approximately a year and I am considering buying a second set to permenantly leave in my crew bag!

These brushes are amazing quality (do not leave bristles on your face) are incredibly soft and easy to store thanks to the hard travel container they come with.

Absolutely no complaints about these brushes! Copied straight from the website, here is a list of the brushes included;

E05 - Eye Liner: Create smooth and even lines. Use with gel or liquid liners.
E30 - Pencil: Soften and smoke out lines. Soften pencil liners along the top and bottom lash lines, add shadow to line the eyes, or use to highlight inner corner of eyes.
E40 - Tapered Blending: Soft blended crease. Using just the tips to apply color, sweep back and forth through the crease for a diffused and blended finish.
E55 - Eye Shading: Even application of color. Place color across the whole lid for an even and strong application of product.
E60 - Large Shader: Uniformly cover the whole lid with product. Apply cream shadow base or cream shadow for quick and even coverage.
E65 - Small Angle: Create precise lining. Moves fluidly and easily across the upper and lower lash lines. Use with gel, cream or powder liners.
E70 - Medium Angled Shading: Soft application of color. Use for brow highlighting or to blend the crease.
F30 - Large Powder: Even powder application. Uniform blending of powder products onto the face and body.
F40 - Large Angled Contour: Subtle cheek application. Use the angle to softly contour the cheekbone. Can also be used to apply blush.
F50 - Duo Fibre: Creates an airbrush effect onto the skin. Can be used with powder, liquid or cream products.
F60 - Foundation: Smooth foundation application. Apply liquid or cream products such as foundation and primer.
F70 - Concealer: Conceal small areas. Conceal the hardest to reach areas such as around the nose and eyes.

Bobbi Brown - Stick foundation

I had not used stick foundations in years but after trialling it in store I decided to purchase it and give it a chance. ~warm beige~

It didn't take long before I fell in love with this product and here's why!

Pros
  • They come in 12 shades and are oil free (which is great as my skin tends to be on the oily side)
  • Blends easily using a flat foundation brush
  • Coverage is varied. You can wear it light-medium or build it up to full coverage
  • Matches my skin really well (yellow based)
  • Doesn't leave a ghostly halo around hairline
  • When I set it with a translucent powder it usually lasts the whole day
Cons
  • Needs a touch up of translucent powder after a few hours as it can look dewy after awhile
  • Price in Australia ($70-80 in Aus but only $42 in the USA)
You can blend this foundation using fingers, brush or beauty sponge but personally I find it best using a brush but really it just comes down to personal choice. I will get around to it and do a tutorial with photos on how I apply it so stay tuned.

Overall I love this foundation, it is definitely my go to foundation for night time. As I live in a hot climate and are often busy throughout the day I tend to forget to redo my translucent powder. So for day use I prefer another foundation, which I will review soon.

Australians- I purchase it at David Jones or on strawberrynet (when they have my shade)
USA- when I visit the states I usually buy it at Sephora, although it's available at a number of shops

Two faced Shadow Insurance

This had to be one of my ultimate makeup products!

I never wear makeup and not use this product. In my experience It really does work to prevent fading, creasing and makes my eyeshadow last so much longer. Prior to using eyeshadow all you do is apply a small amount to your fingers and blend it onto your eyelid, from inner corner up into the crease. Try to apply it evenly and pat it out to ensure a smooth application.

It's creamy and rich but paraben free. Easy to use, skin colour and the odour slightly reminds me of subtle sunscreen. Truly amazing product! I will say Ihave not tried the Champagne Shadow Insurance but when I do I will ensure that I review it!

My only con is that I can't purchase it in Australia! It comes in several varieties, see the official descriptions below;

Shadow Insurance

This primer prevents fading and creasing while intensifying colour! Shadows are locked down for hours!

Shadow Insurance -Lemon Drop

This shadow insurance is infused with a neutralising lemon tone to banish discolouration and ensure eyeshadow wont crease or fade.

Shadow Insurance -Candlelight

This eye shadow primer is enhanced with a shimmery, golden formula for an illuminating candlelight look.

Shadow ipInsurance -Glitter Glue

This formula is enhanced to lock down glitters and loose shimmer to prevent messy fall out.

Shadow Insurance -Champagne

Shadow insurance champagne eye shadow primer locks down and intensifies colour for 24 hours! This waterproof  formula is in a shimmery base that can be worn alone or with your favourite eyeshadow.
